Hope is a powerful thing. Like a flame that won't go out, a part of someone that they will always keep with them.
- Januari Winters (Fire and Ice)
I was just a child. A child like any other, an innocent child, a happy child and my name was the only part of me that stood out.

Just as the cogs in the clock never cease to turn, I just keep on going, no matter what happens.

Praise for Fire and Ice
I very much enjoyed reading Fire and Ice. It is like nothing else I have ever read. It is a most intriguing mix of fantasy and realism. The fantasy works well to place the story in an unusual setting, which gives freedom to explore uncharted territory. And yet it is firmly tethered to real lives, real feelings and believable relationships. The author has an extraordinary mind — I use that word with care — meaning that it is a mind quite out of the ordinary, and yet it is accessible: she is a communicator. It is the story of a huge family, an implausibly huge family, and yet it becomes credible as we are drawn into the plot and realise that it deals with real human emotions, dilemmas and decisions.
I have absolutely no doubt that her astonishing talent will find expression in many other novels. And I look forward to next piece of writing.
